US Navy Projects

MICHAEL M. TSONTOS SA has been performing since the year 2000 as the basic Contractor of the US Navy, at the Naval Base of Souda Bay, in the form of a Job Order Contract (JOC). On September 2012 the cooperation between the two parties was renewed for the fourth consecutive time in the form of JOC2008, following the successful evaluation of MICHAEL M. TSONTOS SA proposal submitted for the open bid. The new contract is of five years duration and a total budget of $30.000.000,00. Previous contracts were:

  • JOC2000, two and a half years duration, budget € 1.275.000,00
  • JOC2002, five years duration, budget € 5.000.000,00
  • JOC2012, five years duration, budget $30.000.000,00

Job Order Contracting is a project delivery method from the same Customer to the same Contractor, within the legal boundaries of the overall Contract. It is ideal for the delivery of small to medium sized projects and can satisfy the Customer’s needs in all kinds of construction (building, electromechanical, road, energy), renovation, changes of use and maintenance. Projects share the same managerial characteristics while pricing criteria are typically firm, objective and consistent.

Once a JOC Contract is in place the owner simply identifies each project and notifies the JOC Contractor on the requirements, cost and time frames. Contractor submits its proposal based on data made available and, upon mutual agreement, project contract is signed.

Apart from the projects delivered under JOC, MICHAEL M. TSONTOS SA successfully participates in open bids of projects published by the US Navy, which follow the respective open bid process.

MICHAEL M. TSONTOS SA employs a dedicated team of managers, engineers and technicians, dealing exclusively with the US Navy projects. Its core has been established since the first delivery orders under JOC2000 and has been continuously enforced with experienced members to date.

The fifteen years of presence of MICHAEL M. TSONTOS SA on Base is the most significant reward and acknowledgment of its consistency and quality of end product.
